SUMMARY:Dragonflies of the Monument - Saturday Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Explore the diversity of dragonflies and their relatives in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument through observation and capture.\n\n\nWe will meet at 9:00 at the CVS (formerly Rite Aid) in Ashland and make our way into the Monument from there. Carpooling is optional but encouraged. \nOdonata is an incredible group of insects that is made up of Dragonflies\, Damselflies\, and their relatives.  On Saturday we will go to Fredenburg Meadow/Pond and observe/catch some of the species that can be found in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. \nMax McClarnon is a Southern Oregon University Graduate with a BS in Biology. He has spent his career working with a variety of wildlife including salamanders\, owls\, and deer. He is currently with Yosemite National Park Service monitoring Northwestern Pond Turtle populations. In recent years he has become intrigued by dragonflies and likes to share his knowledge of them. \nThis Eventbrite is for the Saturday Excursion ONLY. Register for the Friday Night Talk HERE. \nThe Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument’s mission is to support the protection\, restoration and conservation of the Monument through service\, advocacy and education. Our Hike and Learn programs are designed to introduce the public to different topics and locations within the Monument. Hike and Learns are co-created with local scientists\, historians\, artists\, students\, and more.
