SUMMARY:Sunset Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a hike to in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument to enjoy a view of the setting sun with our interpretive rangers.\n\n\nWe will meet at 7:00 PMM at the CVS in Ashland located at 2341 Ashland Street\, and make our way into the Monument from there. Carpooling is optional but recommended. \nJoin Interpretive Rangers\, Allie and Salix\, as they lead us on a hike to watch the sunset on the Greensprings Mountain Loop Trail. Headlamps are available for hike back to the trailhead.  \nThis hike is a 2.8 mile loop with 337 feet of elevation gain and is usually categorized as relatively easy.  \nCover photo Sunset at Grizzly Peak by Greg Valle. \nThe Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument’s mission is to support the protection\, restoration and conservation of the Monument through service\, advocacy and education.

SUMMARY:Blacklight Night Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join Ranger Salix on a night-time hike to see what glows under blacklight!\n\n\nJoin Ranger Salix on a night-time hike to see what glows under blacklight! We will look for scorpions\, millipedes\, bioluminescent lichens\, flying squirrels\, and anything else that reveals itself. All ages and ability levels welcome\, hike will be under 2 miles. Please meet at CVS parking lot in Ashland at 7:30 PM to carpool into the Monument\, and expect to be back by 11:00 PM \nMeet at CVS in Ashland at 7:30 PM. The group will return around 11:00 PM. Please remember to bring a headlamp and sturdy shoes for the hike. \nThe Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument’s mission is to support the protection\, restoration and conservation of the Monument through service\, advocacy and education.
