SUMMARY:National Public Lands Day: Trail Work at Buck Rock Tunnel
DESCRIPTION:Help improve trail signage at Buck Rock tunnel for National Public Lands Day. No experience needed\, tools and guidance provided by BLM.\n\n\nWe will meet at 9:00 AM at the CVS in Ashland and make our way into the Monument from there. Carpooling is optional. \nJoin us for a National Public Lands Day of service at one of the Monument’s most storied spots: the Buck Rock tunnel trail system. This year\, volunteers will help improve navigational signage along the trail\, making it easier for visitors to explore the tunnel\, its history\, and the surrounding landscape. \nNo prior experience needed. Just bring your enthusiasm\, a willingness to get your hands a little dirty\, and a love for public lands. The BLM will provide tools\, safety equipment\, and guidance. Please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants\, and bring water and snacks or lunch (some snacks and drinks will be provided). \nDetails on the day’s activities will be shared with registered volunteers. We can’t wait to work alongside you\, and to make a lasting difference at one of the Monument’s most memorable landmarks. \nFriends of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is a nonprofit organization and our mission is to support the protection\, restoration and conservation of the monument through service\, advocacy and education.

DESCRIPTION:What if connecting with nature could help build healthier\, stronger\, and more resilient communities? \nJoin us at the Historic Holly Theatre on Saturday\, October 24\, doors at 5:00 PM\, event at 6:00 PM\, for a special screening of In Our Nature\, a powerful one hour documentary exploring how environmental education can enhance mental health\, strengthen communities\, and help bridge social and political divides. \nFrom Emmy winning director James Parker and southern Oregon producer Juliet Grable\, a regular contributor to Jefferson Public Radio\, the film follows educators and changemakers who use nature to create meaningful learning experiences and inspire a more compassionate\, connected future. Their stories run from a flower farm on Chicago’s South Side to a forest school in rural Kentucky to a program for military families in San Antonio.
