Dog-Friendly Hike to Little Hyatt Lake

We will meet at 9am at the CVS (formerly Rite Aid) in Ashland located at 2341 Ashland Street, and make our way into the Monument from there.
Ever wondered how to be a respectful steward of the land while also having fun with your four-legged barking family members?
Join Friends’ Ranger Salix as they teach and exemplify how to Leave-No-Trace with your furry friends on a guided hike to Little Hyatt Lake! They will provide perspective on how you and your pets fit in with the natural world, share some training tips and experiences on backpacking with dogs, and give some helpful information you can pass on to others.
The 3-mile round trip hike will be along the Pacific Crest Trail to Little Hyatt Lake, where you will stop to cool off and have lunch. Please expect to keep your dogs on-leash until arriving at Little Hyatt Lake.
Please bring a leash, poop bags, water for you and your dog (and water bowl!), as well as lunch and snacks.
Limited to 10 people and maximum 2 dogs per person, and please leave leash-reactive dogs at home.
The Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument’s mission is to support the protection, restoration and conservation of the Monument through service, advocacy and education.
